Sweater jacket

Only the last few years I have been wanting to wear knits, sweaters, cardis and so on. Somehow they all grew on me and are now a must in my wardrobe. Oversized especially, which are so easy to layer on anything and can be a statement piece in and of itself. This sweater caught my eye thanks to the zipper, which allows me to wear it as a jacket. I love the fact that I can zip up and be comfy in it, I love the mix of the colors, its tribal-like pattern and the fact that it's a longer length. It's a perfect one-more-layer piece to keep me warm before it gets really hot here.

Menswear, literally!

This old Target shirt today that I got quite a while ago in a men's department (I am sensing a theme here haha!). I love the vibrancy of the colors and the fit on me. It is a size S, but it fits loose, so just the way I like it! I wore it to the office too actually, paired with a tailored vest. But I most like wearing it on the weekends layered with a favorite cardi or styled like you see here. This laid back style is what I love most but for an extra oomph I added the high heel sandal (also a Target find). Hope you like it and thank you for visiting!

Blue & black patent leather pumps

Fell in love with those two-tone Aldo pumps! I originally spotted a beige/red combo (check them out in my Instagram post here) in another blogger's post, and when I went on to Aldo's website, I saw these black/blue ones and sure enough couldn't settle for just one pair. Oops! I had the intention of getting only the beige/red ones, but how could I say no to these when I have actually been searching for a blue pair? So here we are... I love that particular blue shade; it is so rich and contrasts with black beautifully. I purposely wore this sea foam green sweater with them, because I thought that the blue and this very muted green will complement each other well and I un-humbly have to say that I like how this color combo turned out haha. Hope you like it too and thank you so much for visiting!

Wearing: Aldo pumps (now on sale for $40!); Asos white button down shirt; Forever21 sweater (similar here); Anine Bing jeans; Etsy earrings.

Knitted vest perfect for layering

Today, the best knitted vest to layer with anything! It's very lightweight and can be worn even on hot summer days with a tee (or without if you don't mind the length. I myself don't really wear crop tops). I layered it with a simple black blouse, but it will go great with a crisp button down shirt as well and both looks will translate into an office appropriate attire easily. I've said that before, but I love layering so naturally when I saw this vest I thought of so many different outfits I would be able to put together with it. I love the color too, very classic, simple and will go with any color even those crazy ones I wear sometimes haha! Hope you enjoy this post and thank you for visiting.

The best sandal purchase

Seriously, Target? Yes, those sandals are a Target purchase! And I know over the years I've gotten some special pieces there (particularly when Target collaborated with fashion designers) and these sandals are a perfect example of that. So well made that they will serve me for years to come. I wanted to make this look casual (I do love casual wear) despite wearing a dressy, strappy sandal. So I layered on a tee, a sweater and a camo jacket on top of it. I love this camo jacket of mine; an old Old Navy purchase in a utility jacket kind of style that I can throw on casually over my shoulders. And you know me, I love layering, the more the better, so now I wonder what am I going to do in the summer?! I am totally a 'layers' person...

Wearing: Target sandals (also come in blue and taupe); Old Navy camo jacket (similar here and here); H&M yellow sweater (similar here); H&M white tee; Anine Bing (same style also here); Badgley Mischka bag (similar here).

Unique button down shirt

How amazing is this shirt? Basic at first glance, but at a closer look you notice the asymmetrical button closure across the chest. I fell in love with it when I saw it on Wendy of wendyslookbook.com a while back. I am glad it's still in stock so you guys can check it out for yourselves. I wore it a few times to the office and felt like I was wearing a special piece because that button detail is so unique! Every now and then I get so sick of office attire I need to wear every day to work, that a garment like this one truly provides a breath of fresh air.

Floral blouse

Nothing more appropriate for spring than flower prints, wouldn't you agree? And even though I am generally not a prints person, I can't help but want to wear bright colors and flower prints to reflect my mood that comes along with the spring. I am excited for this Zara top (skirt and dress in the same print) and different ways I can style it! Flowers very often come with boho style clothes that I am not a huge fan of (on myself), but this top is not boho at all! I think I might even get away with wearing it to the office underneath a structured blazer. What do you like wearing in the spring?

Wearing: Zara top (already sold out, similar here); Anine Bing jeans (plus similar here); Napoleoni ankle boots (old via TJ Maxx, similar here); DKNY leather jacket (old, similar here and here); Pulicati bag (old via TJ Maxx, similar here), Swatch watch.
